About Us
Welcome to Washington Federal.
Since 1917, Washington Federal Savings has focused on keeping things simple. Our reputation is based on offering sensible, easy-to-use accounts and services, combined with personal attention to your financial goals.
You can rest easy knowing you?re banking with one of the strongest financial institutions in the U.S. Washington Federal is an FDIC-insured thrift headquartered in Seattle. We have nearly twice the capital considered to be ?well capitalized,? have paid a cash dividend for 105 consecutive quarters, and have operated independently since our founding in 1917. We became a public company in 1982 and trade on Nasdaq under the symbol WFSL.
Despite growing turmoil in the financial markets, Washington Federal is still growing through new branch openings and acquisitions. In addition to 124 Washington Federal offices, the Company has two new divisions: First Mutual Bank, which has 13 branches in Western Washington, and First Federal Savings, which operates 13 branches in New Mexico, including Gallup Federal Savings and Farmington Savings Bank.
