Join Salish Sea School naturalists and Skagit Audubon Society for a morning of birds and community during the best birding season in Skagit County - winter! Explore the joy of spotting and learning about our cool weather feathered friends while meandering along the scenic Ship Harbor Trail. This walk is perfect for all birding experience levels and ages, with TSSS naturalists and Audubon volunteers sharing birding tips, tricks, and stories of the amazing diversity of birds that winter on the Salish Sea. AGES: All ages are welcome and encouraged to attend! WHAT TO BRING: Weather appropriate layers, sturdy shoes, water, snacks, binoculars (optional, we will also have some to borrow!) ACCESSIBILITY NOTE: Trail can be slick in cold or wet weather and no bathroom is available at this location. Ship Harbor Trail is approximately 0.5mi long roundtrip and is a relatively flat and wide gravel trail with a boardwalk section. Please email community@thesalishseaschool.org if you have any questions about the accessibility of the trail. REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS This event is FREE for all to attend! We want everyone to have the ability to experience the wonder of the sea. If you would like to help support this event and other marine education programs, please include a donation amount of your choosing in the section below. All gifts are deeply appreciated!
